Gordon Bishop wrote a book The Hacky back in 2007, which I had read and liked. It was a light-hearted book about growing up in Hackensack in 1949, when
Gordon Bishop was 11 and his brother Edward was 12 years old.

I thought it would be nice to create a web page for Gordon Bishop and after going back and looking at his many accomplishments, it is well worth recording his material. Today, July 29, 2018, I went to look at the house Gordon Bishop grew up in at
110 Summit Avenue Hackensack and it happened to be right across the street from Carl Padovano’s house on the corner of Summit Avenue and Beech Street in Hackensack, New Jersey. This is the house Gordon and his brother Ed are living in and is referred to in the book, and today it appears to have been abandon.

Its large structure stucco finish and surrounding overgrown shrubs and trees give you a sense of better days gone by and Gordon Bishop's book reveals just that.This old house may be turned into an office building or taken down, and a new one completely put up, but the memory Gordon left in his book are good ones and other people have similar memories of growing up in Hackensack of a time gone by.
